Something that makes me mad.

I hate it when Christians hide behind "religious freedom" to spread hate. I was reading about the new law Arizona passed that would enable Business owners to be able to with hold their services from certain individuals in order to "protect themselves from a lifestyle they oppose". Quote taken from this article,  http://www.allgov.com/news/top-stories/arizona-legislature-passes-bill-allowing-businesses-to-discriminate-against-gays-140225?news=852529. 

What the hell?!?! I think the general public needs to be protected from Christians who use Jesus's name to spew hatred. If they truly wanted to represent Jesus they would not only serve the people, but they would invite them into their home (gasp) for a meal. If they wanted to go even deeper in obedience to Jesus and what he stood for they would make friends with the gay person...even invite them to their children's birthday party. 

I would be a whole lot happier if those people would just admit thy maybe they are a bit uncomfortable around a gay couple. It makes sense. If you are used to surrounding yourself with people who are exactly like you it can take some getting used to. But If you call yourself a follower of Jesus Christ then you need to get used to it. Gay people are not going anywhere anytime soon and they deserve god's love to be shown to them just as much as a person sitting in a church pew.

 I grew up in a very tiny community  and really never encountered black people until I went to jr. High. Now my parents weren't racists at all, we just didn't leave our community very often. I remember trying not to stare at a black girl in my 7th grade pe class. I was so curious about what her skin felt like. I just wanted to go up to her and ask if I could touch her. Thank god I never did. I just got used to it...quickly. So that is my plea to these people...so you have never really been around gay people? Oh well...get used to it please. Especially if you have a business that allows the general public in. 

Gay people have been oppressed by the Christian community long enough. Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself, there is no other greater commandment." How can you ignore that scripture?!?! 

So as a Christian I have to once again say to the gay community, I am so very sorry for the hatred you have experienced in the name of Jesus. I hope that when you experience or hear about things like this that you realize that these actions are not from Jesus, he loves you. .

    I'm not sure if it's the same case, I didn't look, but I remember one guy at a cake shop who was being shut down because he refused to do a custom cake for a gay couple that was a huge rainbow, etc. I can see his reasoning for not wanting to do that custom cake. He did say, however, that had the gay couple come in and ordered something he already had there wouldn't have been an issue. I see both sides but obviously not each and every case is the same.

      That is a touchy situation. I guess I can empathize with the cake shop owner. I do think that if it was me in that situation I would still make the cake. Maybe that relationship will bring the customer to jesus...I dont know. I just seems like the right thing to do.

Turning over a new leaf

So, when I got a gym membership about 10 months ago I agreed with my husband that I should be working out about 3 times a week to make my gym membership financially worth it. I was doing really good until about 2 months ago. I think that finals, along with getting a new job, new schedule, and my own laziness has really got in the way. Surgery

Well, as of 6: 00 pm yesterday, I am not longer a surgery virgin. I woke friday morning with excruciating pain. I have had ovarian cysts before and they were very painful, but nothing compared to this. Sean came home from work and took me to the hospital where they gave me a cat scan and determined that I had an 8 cm long cyst residing in between my uterus and my intestines. The doctor (the same one who delivered me it turns out) recommended that I have surgery to remove it. He said he would try to save my ovaries and my ability to have kids. I will be honest...it was a little scary going into surgery, but I have received really great for the nurses here. The doctor ended up having to take one of my ovaries but was able to save the other, thank God. He was really sweet and told me that my fertility was on the forefront of my mind. Most of my girlfriends know about the issues I have been having with my ovaries and overall pelvic pain that I have been experiencing for quite some time now
