Thankful list 2013

I am thankful that Jesus Christ was such a revolutionary and that his character is so much more gracious and loving then a lot of his followers make him out to be. 

I am thankful for a healthy baby girl 


I am thankful that Sean had such a great job that enables me to stay home with our baby. 



I am also thankful that if I had to I could easily get a job and support our family with my RN license.

I am thankful for a comfortable home, although it may seem a bit small at times, its the home we were able to afford. 

I am thankful to live in Chico where I have access to amazing local,organic and healthy food. I don't have to look far for grass fed meat or pasture raised eggs and my csa is amazing. 

I am thankful that I have access to unlimited free babysitting from grandmas, we may not always live in the same town as our moms but for now it is a good thing we do :) 



I am thankful for best friends, even if they move away from you right when you need them the most (Natalie!!!). If I went from Chico to Seattle to Tennessee to Cool to salinas I know I would be able to find a best friend to hang out with. 

I am thankful for a great church that fosters a great community. 

I am thankful for my family and the family I married into with all my nieces and nephews. 

There is so much more, this was just the big stuff. Maybe I will do a materialistic thankful list on Black Friday :)

Turning over a new leaf

So, when I got a gym membership about 10 months ago I agreed with my husband that I should be working out about 3 times a week to make my gym membership financially worth it. I was doing really good until about 2 months ago. I think that finals, along with getting a new job, new schedule, and my own laziness has really got in the way. Lately I have been lucky if I make it to the gym 2 times a week... The interesting thing is that I am finally at a place in my life where I am comfortable in my own skin. I have learned to finally embrace the way God made me and realize that no matter what my outer appearance looks like the true beauty comes from a heart after God. I have comes to terms with what a real woman looks like. Not the woman on the cover of Cosmo, not the woman in any victoria secret catalogue. Those women are beautiful...but they are fake. Surgery

Well, as of 6: 00 pm yesterday, I am not longer a surgery virgin. I woke friday morning with excruciating pain. I have had ovarian cysts before and they were very painful, but nothing compared to this. Sean came home from work and took me to the hospital where they gave me a cat scan and determined that I had an 8 cm long cyst residing in between my uterus and my intestines. The doctor (the same one who delivered me it turns out) recommended that I have surgery to remove it. He said he would try to save my ovaries and my ability to have kids. I will be honest...it was a little scary going into surgery, but I have received really great for the nurses here. The doctor ended up having to take one of my ovaries but was able to save the other, thank God. He was really sweet and told me that my fertility was on the forefront of my mind. Most of my girlfriends know about the issues I have been having with my ovaries and overall pelvic pain that I have been experiencing for quite some time now
